JOB DETAILS:
Optometrist
REPORTS TO: HOD OPTOMETRY
CLOSING DATE: 25TH FEB 2021 .

CORE DUTIES
• Clinical refraction, retinoscopy and photometry.
• Contact lens practice.
• Diagnosis and management of ocular diseases.
• Low vision management.
• Binocular vision assessment and management.
• Pediatric eye care.
• Geriatric eye care.
• General ocular screening for ocular systemic diseases; Diabetic Retinopathies, Hypertenive Retinopathies and other neurogical conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1 MUST be a degree holder in Optometry and vision science from a recognized institution.
2 MUST have a working experience of two years in a very busy hospital.
3.MUST be a member of a dully registered body or Optometry Association.

• Exceptional ability to asses, examines, diagnose, manage and take precaution measures to taking care of the patient.
• Strong ability to identify the needs of the patient and focus on the investigations of the physical and psychosocial development.
• Great ability to demonstrate the therapies and treatment methods to the patient.
• Profound organizational and communicational skills both verbally and written.
• Demonstrating skills in Optical procedures.
• Participate within the multidisciplinary health care and eye care team effectively.
• Apply psychosocial, ethical consideration and community orientation in optical services.
• Policy making.
• Demonstrate appropriate managerial skills.
