A Media and Technology Teacher's core duties involve designing and delivering technology-focused curriculum (like coding, digital media, and robotics), integrating technology into the classroom, and managing technical equipment.
Curriculum & Instruction: Design, develop, and deliver lessons and curriculum in areas such as computer science, coding, robotics, digital media, and other emerging technologies. Integrate technology tools and resources into teaching methods and across different subjects to enhance learning. Create engaging, project-based learning activities that foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Student Assessment & Support: Evaluate student progress through tests, projects, presentations, and other methods. Monitor and document student performance, providing feedback and support for growth. Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment. Technology Management & Support: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot classroom technology equipment and software. Serve as a point of contact for technical issues and support for students and staff. Manage and organize technology-related resources and materials.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-related software, coding languages (e.g., Python, Java), and digital tools. Familiarity with hardware, software, and emerging technologies like AI and machine learning. Pedagogical Skills: Strong lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment skills. Effective classroom management and the ability to create stimulating learning environments. Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learners and varying tech skill levels. Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues. Collaboration and team-building skills to work effectively with other educators. Organizational & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage resources, schedules, and student progress. Problem-solving abilities to address technical issues and adapt to challenges.
