REMUNERATION

  • Basic Salary per month range: Kshs. (42,858/= -65,986/=)
  • House allowance per month: Kshs. (24,768/=)

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Must possess a Diploma in Security Studies or a relevant field from a recognized institution;
  • Must possess three (3) years’ experience in grade 6 or a comparable position with exemplary performance;
  • Should have worked with any of the Disciplined Forces of Kenya or any other reputable security firm with a Discharge Certificate;
  • Must possess a valid Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Must possess a current First Aid Certificate;
  • Must possess a current Fire Fighting Certificate;
  • Must be computer literate;
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills;
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of relevant policies, strategies, regulations and procedures; and
  • Experience in a University or institution of Higher learning and possession of relevant additional training will be an added advantage.

OR

  • Should have been Non-commissioned officers in Disciplined forces;
  • Must possess three (3) years’ experience in grade 6 or a comparable position with exemplary performance;
  • Must possess a valid Police Clearance Certificate;
  • Must be computer literate;
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills;
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of relevant policies, strategies, regulations and procedures; and
  • Experience in a University or institution of Higher learning and possession of relevant additional training will be an added advantage.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of security policies to protect University personnel from harassment, threats, and violence;
  • Contribute to risk assessments and help develop emergency response strategies.
  • Monitor and maintain a consistently safe and secure campus environment.
  • Stay informed about new security risks and share relevant updates to improve safety measures.
  • Ensure timely security responses to emergencies, including medical, fire, and intrusion incidents.
  • Detect, investigate, and report security breaches and unusual activities to senior management.
  • Compile and present regular security reports, outlining departmental performance and improvement areas.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of crimes and incidents for transparency and accountability.
  • Help create and implement security tools such as identification passes and visitor registers to control access.
  • Participate in investigations and legal processes related to campus security incidents.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to support security-related decision-making.
  • Organize and manage security operations to protect University people and property.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet University security needs.
