PACIS Insurance Company Limited was incorporated in Kenya in October 2004 and licensed to do business in August 2005 It is an initiative of the Catholic Church with a vision to be the icon of reliability and trustworthiness.
Responsibilities or duties
The jobholder is responsible for the end-to-end management of an assigned portfolio of corporate medical schemes. This encompasses risk assessment, pricing, renewal management, and scheme profitability, as well as the deepening of client and intermediary relationships that drive retention, organic growth, and long-term portfolio health. The role bridges technical underwriting rigour with proactive account management, ensuring every assigned scheme is renewed competitively, serviced excellently, and monitored for sustainable loss performance.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Minimum Academic Qualification:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant business or technical disciplinefrom a recognised university, including but not limited to:
- Actuarial Science or Statistics
- Insurance & Risk Management
- Business Administration, Commerce, or Finance
Professional Qualifications
Diploma in Insurance — AIIK or ACII — or active progresstowards either qualification.
Membership of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK) or equivalent professional body is an added advantage.
Experience needed
Minimum two (2) years of relevant working experience in medical underwriting, health insurance account management, or a closely related role.
Demonstrated experience managing corporate group schemes, including renewal management and client servicing, is preferred.

Solid understanding of the insurance industry, with specific knowledge of medical/health insurance products, policystructures, and benefit design.
Familiarity with medical loss ratio management, claims analysis, and underwriting principles for group medical schemes.
Working knowledge of KYC/AML compliance requirements applicable to insurance in Kenya (IRA guidelines).
Understanding of wellness programme structures and chronic disease management (CDMP) concepts is an advantage.
