Background

Our client, a reputable primary school based in Kiambu County, is seeking to recruit a School Matron to oversee the health, welfare, and general wellbeing of pupils. The ideal candidate will be warm, organized, and proactive in ensuring a safe and caring environment for learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the general welfare, hygiene, and health of pupils within the school.
• Administer basic first aid and attend to minor illnesses or injuries.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health and welfare records.
• Monitor pupils’ cleanliness, uniforms, and personal care standards.
• Support school health and safety programs and assist in emergency response when needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and parents on matters related to student wellbeing.
• Provide pastoral support and guidance to pupils as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A certificate or diploma in a related field (e.g., hospitality, health care, or child care).
• Previous experience as a school matron, house matron, or in a similar child-centered role is essential.
• Nursing training or background will be an added advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring and disciplined approach.
• Ability to maintain discretion and uphold high standards of hygiene and professionalism.
