Overview
About the Role

1. This role works directly with the E&I engineer, Asset Care Manager, Shift Team Leaders, Quality team and very closely with the Spirits Site Manager, Engineering Stores Manager, Technical department and the Technical Operators.
2. Externally this role also has regular contacts with Contractors, Equipment suppliers and consultants and Site safety.
Market Complexity
1. The company has undergone changes in its asset care policy through adoption of Reliability centered maintenance (RCM) strategy focused on attaining maximum equipment reliability and performance at optimum cost.
2. The role works hand in hand with the asset care manager in setting and executing asset care performance objectives with KPI’s to address all key elements of the strategy.
3. The role does assist for medium- and long-term asset care planning in line with strategy. The ultimate goal is to embed the 9 BCM asset care pillars that will drive paradigm shift in the ways assets are managed.

Leadership Responsibilities:
Decision Making Authority

1. Provide builds into maintenance plans, weekly, monthly & annual in liaison with planner, E&I Engineer and ACM.
2. Orchestrate continuous improvement activities.
3. Implementation of engineering and maintenance issues within agreed standards.
4. Orchestrate problem solving in liaison with ACM and E&I Eng.
5. Decide on temporary remedial measures and modification on Electrical systems to sustain production while arrangements for permanent solution are being made.
6. Freedom of action within company policy and procedures.
7. Evaluation of the quality of spares supplied.
8. Recommend stocking of non-stock items.
Relationships
1. E&I engineer administratively and on day-to-day activities in UDV Processes
2. Site safety team on PTW system, safety standards i.e. providing Engineering solutions through ERICPD, SFIP, SIRC closure
3. Stores manager on receipt of ordered services stock and non-stock.
4. Electrical and Instruments Engineer in relation to maintenance, plant modifications, breakdown maintenance and continuous improvements.
5. Procurement on supplier reviews, spares acquisition and resolving TQ
6. Shift Managers and UDV Technical operators on day-to-day activities in Packaging Halls, blending plant, RO plants, RTD plant as well as UDV facilities and adjacent areas.
7. UDV quality manager on equipment effectiveness validation and defect identification and elimination
8. Utilities team on utilities optimization
9. OPEX team through MMS on driving best practices, DMAICs and process codification.
10. Work with External contractors on commissioning of contracted new installations and supervision of repair/service and maintenance works.

Top Accountabilities
Decision Making Authority

1. Responsibility for asset maintenance and recommendation on improvement, replacement, modification and decommission.
2. Ensure availability of non-stock/nil stock spares
3. Determine equipment centre lines, track deviations, stop and fix any equipment deviating from standard operating parameters.
4. Determining causes of breakdowns and giving solutions
5. Order available spares from store during B/downs or maintenance.
6. Maintain instruments to required calibration schedule
7. Maintain equipment software backups periodically
8. Deciding on which tasks to refer to E&I engineer

Key Performance Indicators
1. Execution of maintenance activities to plan i.e. zero maintenance excess.
2. Deliver on quality by ensuring process parameters are controlled and maintained within recommended set values through equipment process validation
3. New installations/plants operate as per agreed commissioning standards.
4. Champion raising and closing of SIRCs
5. Deliver plant Reliability as per AOP
6. Deliver plant Availability as per AOP
7. Weekly tracking and control of equipment MTTR & MTBF.
8. Deliver on AOP Maintenance Cost Per HL
9. Ensure delivery of zero harm agenda by ensuring 100% working of all equipment safety mechanisms
10. Optimize water and energy usage as defined by OEM
11. Track PPM completion and backlog management
12. Environmental KPI’s.
13. Adherence to training plan
14. Adherence to walk about and inspection schedule
15. Carry out failure mode analysis on replaced components for feedback to ACM, E&I engineer and OEM
16. Lead delivery of RCPS as per defined triggers
17. Compliance to audit one plan.
18. Capturing all machine related issues in CMMS (SAP)
19. Drive improvement through use of MMS tools (e.g. DMAICS, STM, FI etc)
20. Standardizing of maintenance procedures and processes i.e. centre lining, process equipment codification
21. Drive sustainability projects i.e. Energy and water optimization

Qualifications and Experience Required:
1. Higher national diploma with a min of 5 years proven experience or Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years’ proven experience in the FMCG industry
2. Ability to interpret technical drawings, maintenance manuals, schematic drawings and general engineering specifications to carry out the job.
3. Ability to work with industrial software eg Siemens Step 7, TIA, WinCC, SoMachine etc
4. Demonstrate understanding of PLCs, HMIs and engineering networks
5. Use of SAP – maintenance
6. Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)
7. Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Assessment (FMECA)
8. Asset care Best Practice
9. Knowledge of Bottling procedures to avail plant availability and equipment service
10. Appreciation of procedures of personnel, stores, security and purchasing departments
11. Solid Trouble shooting skills.
12. Ability to communicate in both written and oral formats.
13. Planning/ Presentation/Interpersonal skills
14. Knowledge in industrial health & safety and management techniques
15. Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing standards
16. High interpersonal efficiency to develop and sustain robust relationships
17. Role model of high-performance mentor skills and people management
18. Good negotiator
19. Good industrial relations skills
20. Familiar with skills and proficiency descriptions and able to interpret training and development needs
21. Knowledge of ISO 9001 for Quality, Energy Management Policy HACCP- ISO 22000 for food safety, ISO 14001 for Environment & OHSAS – ISO 18001 Health and Safety standards plus any other management systems that may apply.
