Waitress/Waiter

Responsibilities

  • Greet, escort, and seat customers warmly, ensuring every guest feels welcome and important in the restaurant.
  • Present the menu and provide detailed information upon request, covering portions, ingredients, daily specials, and potential food allergens.
  • Proactively offer menu recommendations and strategically upsell additional food and drink products when appropriate.
  • Accurately take all food and drinks orders using the POS ordering software or slips.
  • Adequately communicate and confirm all order details to the kitchen staff to ensure precision.
  • Serve food and drink orders to guests, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation of all dishes and kitchenware.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized dining area by arranging table settings and clearing dirty plates, glasses, and silverware promptly.
  • Deliver checks to customers and accurately collect bill payments, strictly adhering to all cash handling procedures.
  • Meet regularly with restaurant staff to review daily specials, menu changes, and service specifications for reservations.
  • Provide consistently excellent customer service to all guests and immediately report any customer complaints or compliments to the Kitchen and Restaurant Supervisors.
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations and assist the kitchen staff with any kind of Mise en Place when called upon.
  • Ensure all alcoholic beverages are served only to persons of age 18 and above, strictly upholding legal compliance.

Requirements

  • Must be between 25-30 years of age.
  • Hospitality experience of at least 2 years in a busy environment.
  • Basic math abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well and remain calm under pressure.
  • Interest in food and drinks.
  • High standards of personal hygiene and personal grooming.
  • Ability to multitask
