JOB DETAILS:
The Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2019 and is responsible for Economic and Technical Regulation of Electric Power, Renewable Energy, Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Petroleum sub-sectors. The Authority is seeking to recruit suitable Kenyan citizens to fill the following vacant positions:
Deputy Director, Consumer Protection, JOB GRADE 3 (1 POSITION ON CONTRACT TERMS)
Reporting to the Director Enforcement and Consumer Protection, the successful candidate will be responsible for championing the rights of all consumers in the energy and petroleum sub sectors. .

Key Responsibilities
i) Developing and implementing policies on consumer protection;
ii) Development and implementation of corporate service charter;
iii) Researching, planning and reviewing of the customer service charter;
iv) Developing effective communication channels for consumer engagement;
v) Maintaining an effective communication and creation of awareness of EPRA services to the stakeholders;
vi) Preparing procedures, for dissemination of information to consumers;
vii) Conducting customer satisfaction surveys;
viii) Handling related customer queries and complaints;
ix) Conducting consumer awareness campaigns;
x) Implementing customer survey report recommendations;
xi) Monitoring and evaluation of effectiveness of customer engagement initiatives;
xii) Supervision of preparation of departmental budgets;
xiii) Developing departmental performance targets;
xiv) Preparing departmental procurement plans;
xv) Preparing departmental work plans; and
xvi) Ensuring the quality management systems are adhered to.

Qualifications & Skills required
i) At least eight (10) years relevant work experience five (5) of which should have been in management level;
ii) A Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Law, Criminology, Economics, Education, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Communication and Public Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
iii) A Master Degree in Engineering, Law, Criminology, Education, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Communication and Public Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
iv) Membership of professional body in good standing, where applicable;
v) Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
vi) Proficiency in Computer applications skills;
vii) Demonstrated results in work performance; and
viii) Other competencies required include; aanalytical skills, communication, reporting skills, managerial skills, ability to lead teams, mentoring, coaching, leadership skills, interpersonal skills, strategic thinker, negotiation skills and a team player.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS

iv) Copy of National Identification Card or Passport
v) Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
vi) Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
vii) Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
viii) Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
ix) Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
