JOB DETAILS:
The Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2019 and is responsible for Economic and Technical Regulation of Electric Power, Renewable Energy, Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Petroleum sub-sectors. The Authority is seeking to recruit suitable Kenyan citizens to fill the following vacant positions:
Deputy Director, Electricity - GRADE 3 (1 POSITION ON CONTRACT TERMS) RE-ADVERTISED
Reporting to the Head of Directorate, the successful candidate will be responsible for inter alia guiding research in the electricity sub sector in the country, developing, and implementing standards, codes of practice and subsector frameworks. .

Key Responsibilities
i) Making recommendations for the sub sector with a view to achieving customer satisfaction by offering improved services;
ii) Overseeing the review of sub sector framework applications, commercial agreements and service contracts and making recommendations as necessary;
iii) Managing the collection and analysis of information relating to technical and fiscal sub sector frameworks;
iv) Preparing strategic and operational plans and setting key performance indicators for particular activities in the department; and
v) Preparing departmental budgets and ensuring effective utilization of resources through effective control.

Qualifications & Skills required
i) At least ten (10) years’ work experience, five (5) of which must be in a management position;
ii) Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant degree from a recognized university;
iii) Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant degree from a recognized university;
iv) Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
v) Professional qualification, membership with legally recognized professional body and in good standing;
vi) Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
vii) Personal attributes such as strategic thinking, analytical skills, excellent communication and reporting skills, good managerial skills and ability to lead teams, mentoring, coaching and leadership skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills and a team player.

viii) Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
ix) Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
