JOB DETAILS:
The Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2019 and is responsible for Economic and Technical Regulation of Electric Power, Renewable Energy, Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Petroleum sub-sectors. The Authority is seeking to recruit suitable Kenyan citizens to fill the following vacant positions:
Principal Enforcement Officer – GRADE 4 (5 POSITIONS ON PERMANENT & PENSIONABLE TERMS) – RE-ADVERTISED
Reporting to the Deputy Director of the Directorate, the successful candidate will be responsible for inspection of sites and facilities to ensure no illegal activities in the sector, and taking appropriate enforcement actions where necessary. .

Key Responsibilities
i) Implementing applicable sector standards in Kenya;
ii) Maintaining effective collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders;
iii) Conducting compliance checks on all related works and services;
iv) Investigating allegations of contravention of codes, standards and frameworks;
v) Investigating accidents;
vi) Undertaking investigations on complaints and suspicion of non- compliance; and
vii) Liaising with relevant stakeholders in respect to enforcement.

Qualifications & Skills required
i) Have at least eight (8) years relevant work experience; three (3) of which must be in supervisory role;
ii) A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Law, Criminology, Economics, Environmental Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
iii) A Masters degree in Engineering, Law, Criminology, Economics, Environmental Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
iv) Membership of a professional body, in good standing, where applicable;
v) Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
vi) Proficiency in Computer applications;
vii) Demonstrated results in work performance;
viii) Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
ix) Personal attributes such as; strategic thinking, analytical skills, excellent communication and reporting skills, good managerial skills and ability to lead teams, mentoring, coaching and leadership skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills and a team player.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS

ii) A detailed CV indicating their current and previous employers, positions held, current and expected salary, level of education and names of at least three professional referees
iii) Copies of academic and professional certificates
iv) Copy of National Identification Card or Passport
v) Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
vi) Valid Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
vii) Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
viii) Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
ix) Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
