JOB DETAILS:
The Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2019 and is responsible for Economic and Technical Regulation of Electric Power, Renewable Energy, Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Petroleum sub-sectors. The Authority is seeking to recruit suitable Kenyan citizens to fill the following vacant positions:
Principal ICT Officer – GRADE 4 (1 POSITION ON PERMANENT & PENSIONABLE TERMS) – RE-ADVERTISED
Reporting to the Manager ICT, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to ICT policies, procedures and standards. .

Key Responsibilities
i) Formulation and implementation ICT strategies;
ii) Ensuring adherence to ICT policies, procedures and standards;
iii) Oversee ICT programs and activities in liaison with the head of ICT;
iv) Coordinating and supervising ICT unit/division;
v) Establishing mechanisms for disaster recovery and business continuity; and
vi) Supervising and managing assigned ICT projects within the planned timelines and budget projections.

Qualifications & Skills Required
i) At least eight years (8) of relevant work experience, three (3) of which must be at supervisory level;
ii) A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Communications Technology, Electronics Engineering or any other ICT related disciplines with a bias in computer science from a recognized institution (CUE equivalence where applicable);
iii) A Masters degree in Computer Science or any other ICT related discipline from a recognized Institution;
iv) Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
v) Relevant Professional qualifications in any two of the following courses:
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certificate;
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certificate;
• Microsoft Certified Systems Developer (MCSD) certificate;
• Certified Cyber Security from an internationally recognized institution;
vi) Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
vii) Personal attributes such; strategic thinking, analytical skills, project management skills, strong communication and reporting skills, strong managerial skills and ability to lead teams, mentoring, coaching and leadership skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills and a team player.

vii) Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
viii) Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
ix) Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
