JOB DETAILS:
Teule Kenya (Teule meaning “Chosen”), is a non-governmental organization, registered in March 1996 under the NGOs Act. Teule Kenya works with orphaned and vulnerable children with a special focus on children on the streets or in homeless situations, orphans and vulnerable children due to HIV/AIDs and Maasai girls rescued from FGM and child marriage in Kajiado County. Our work is geared towards helping them access their rights under the Kenya Children’s Act 2001 and the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child. Our operations are based in Kajiado County majorly in Oloitokitok, Kimana, Entonet, Illasit towns and their surroundings. The aim of the organization is to provide orphaned and vulnerable children with a nurturing environment that supports education, personal growth, spiritual growth and career development. To this end we carry out rehabilitation through counseling, medical care, feeding programs, providing clothing and shelter, opportunities for formal education to the highest level possible and also re-integrate the children back to their families. We also train children on their rights and provide life skills training and psychosocial support. According to the organization’s needs, the Communication and Partners Coordinator organizes details of all activities related with fundraising, partnerships and resource mobilization. .

Job Responsibilities:
• To take the lead in identifying funding opportunities, listing them and sharing the information with the management committee.
• To assist with funding proposal writing processes. This involves writing project and budget plan proposals and coordinating with the different departments with the aim of sometimes jointly submitting project proposals.
• To assist in developing a fund generation and resource mobilization Work plan and constantly follow-up the implementation of the plan. This involves designing and writing materials for communications with different prospective donors and agencies.
• To assist in mobilizing non-financial resources from private sectors entities, individuals, faith based organizations and corporate agencies.
• To coordinate processing of agreements in connection with funding opportunities and ensure effective and timely follow-up in terms of submission of reports to the donors and grant renewal proposals.
• To monitor donor reporting and grant expenditure deadlines; coordinate with different departmental heads and the finance office in responding to these deadlines while facilitating and participating in the preparation of quality financial and narrative reports to donors..

  Job Qualifications:
• Must be a born- again and committed Christian. A recommendation letter from a church minister is mandatory
• A bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Business management, Community Development, communications or marketing
• At least 2 year experience in fundraising, event planning or related activities
• Excellent Time Management and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Attention to detail
• Ability to take initiative and creatively problem solve
• Excellent knowledge of English, both orally and written
• Good analytical skills in developing, monitoring and implementing resource mobilization strategies and utilizing campaign metrics to determine best practices
