Responsibilities
• Strengthening the Micro Insurance business unit with an entrepreneurial culture, customer-centric principles and strong distribution partnerships;
• Conducting market research or utilize existing research on Micro and Agri Insurance and exploring opportunities presented by the market to develop innovative Micro Insurance and Agribusiness Insurance products and solutions that meet customer needs;
• Managing the business portfolio through prudent underwriting in order to achieve the targeted business mix and profitability. Review internal business model to ensure that it is agile to enable efficient management of Micro Insurance and setting review mechanism to ensure profitability;
• Liaising with other business units to ensure business procured is compliant with company underwriting guidelines i.e. pricing, risk, reinsurance, legal etc.;
• Collecting premium within the Insurance Act dispensation; Develop premium collection mechanisms that enable prompt payment of premium and adherence to credit control policy;
• Complying with statutory, regulatory and internal control processes at the business units including internal and external audit recommendations;
• To engage and manage third party relationships including the donor community and foundations who support initiatives on financial inclusions;
• To prepare applications and report on potential funding agencies and supporters of financial inclusion;
• Setting Goals and KPI’s for the team. Developing and supervising the Micro Insurance and Agribusiness teams to reach the agreed target markets;
