JOB DETAILS:

IBTCI is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Child Protection Consultant to be base in Nairobi. The purpose of this consultancy is to develop a child protection monitoring and verification tool that will enable field monitors to gather and provide independent verifiable data related to child protection services that are being implemented in Somalia. The tool will gather information on the outputs, outcomes and progress, quality, challenges, successes and lessons learned. Position is open to Kenya Nationals Only.
Responsibilities
• Develop a data collection tool for the following child protection services;
• Child-friendly spaces in health facilities and IDP camps for children who are at risk for abuse or neglect, including child recruitment and child labor.
• Child-friendly spaces in safe houses.
• Case management, IDTK and community GBV protection mechanism.
• Psychosocial services.
Qualifications
Preferred Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
• Strong understanding of humanitarian assistance in Somalia or in the region
• Proven ability to develop and review of child protection monitoring tools
• Knowledge of USAID requirements on child protection sector
• In-depth understanding of USAID performance management standards and guidelines
Minimum Requirements
• A minimum of six (6) years of work experience in Development or Humanitarian Assistance with at least two (3) of those years in monitoring and evaluation work
• Experience in working collaboratively or developing results—oriented program design, strategic planning and program evaluation
• Experience in identifying and integrating data collection tools and methods (eg, surveys, interviews, focus groups, secondary research data) into performance indicator monitoring systems
• Experience in using databases to manage, analyze and visualize indicator data for donor reporting and team utilization
• Fluency in spoken and written English. Education: Bachelor's degree in social science research or related subject. Master's Degree preferred
