We currently work in over 93 countries and focus primarily on women and girls, as the most disproportionately affected by poverty, while engaging men and boys in our work too. CAREs East, Central and Southern Africa Regional Office (ECSARO) is responsible for the oversight of CARE's operations in the region as well as the provision of support to 15 Country Offices in the region. We are looking for a bright, dynamic, innovative and resourceful person to take up an exciting challenge in the capacity of Regional Business Analyst based in Nairobi, with flexibility to travel to Country Offices in the region. .
The Regional Business Analyst is responsible for promoting sound Finance & Budget Management within the ECSA Region and the Regional Office. S/ he provides technical support in Regional report reviews and feedback to Country Office to include Country Office Monthly Finance & Operations Report, Finance Analysis & Reporting, Budget Grants and Contracts Review log to Country Offices in the region as well as Regional Office Budget Management and Reporting. S/he will work closely with Shared Services Center, Regional Office and Country Offices to ensure appropriate annual Financial Accounting & Reporting at the Country Offices is accomplished.

Applicants are required to have, at a minimum, a University Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent, professional accounting qualifications as well as five to seven years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the not-for-profit sector. Strong knowledge and experience of accounting, finance and budget management as well as hands on experience of an Enterprise Resource Planning system is required. Knowledge of key donor rules and regulations is preferred, and the applicant must be a member of a professional accounting body and have a sound knowledge of GAAP and accounting applications for the not-for-profit sector. Experience using large scale automated financial systems and spreadsheets/databases, as well as excellent coaching and negotiation skills with high level of operational decision making, planning and organization skills are an added advantage. Agility and proactive engagement towards problem solving is essential. The incumbent must have a willingness to spend a significant amount of time travelling away from home (approximately 50%), and to be deployed on short notice.
