Job description
Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust is an organization operating in rural Rarieda. The organization began as a grass-root CBO in 2003 to assist orphaned children and youth through community empowerment. Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust has since developed into a dynamic organization, focused on empowerment and development, both within the community and the organization. We are currently seeking to recruit a talented, progressive and team-oriented individual to fill the following vacant position.
Responsible for driving, operating and taking care of the organizations tractor and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws as well as organizations procedures regarding the use of the tractor. .

Responsibilities
Driving
• Deliver goods including water while operating the tractor and ensure that they arrive timely and safely to the set destination.
• Take part in loading and unloading of cargo from the trailer/bowser.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered and places where they are being delivered.
• Plough farms as instructed by the supervisor.
• Take part in measuring the farms to be ploughed and ensure that the clients are charged as per the size of the land.
Maintenance
• Perform daily/periodic safety and maintenance checks of the organizations fleet including the tractor.
• Perform fleet inspections and preventative maintenance before, during and after trips.
• Keep the truck and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
• Follow the regular fleet maintenance schedule and give timely advice on any needed repairs or special maintenance to the concerned parties.
• Report any mechanical problems to the Supervisor.
Administrative Duties
• Take part in the general procurement process especially related to fleet and their parts.
• Develop comprehensive reports on the fleet including the tractor.
• Monitor and advice the management on any legal compliances that need to be renewed i.e. Insurance, Inspection etc.
• Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a favorable image of RWMT/RTRC in the course of discharging the duties.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of the fleet.

Qualifications
• The knowledge, skills and abilities may be required through a combination of formal schooling, self-education and prior experience or on-the-job-training).
• At least KCSE (“O” Level) with at least four years hands on experience in driving profession. Must possess a class D or G Driving License and any other documents as required by traffic laws before driving/riding. The incumbent should have a Certificate of Good Conduct
• Specialized Training in Vehicle and Motorbike maintenance
• At least four (4) years’ experience in a similar position.
• Must have developed good intercultural orientation and strong public relations skills.
• Should possess strong communication and good interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Time management skills.

• possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
• be flexible
• deal with the public in a positive manner
• The position requires the incumbent to work in a rural area.
