- Overview: Originally incubated secretly as a specialized skunkworks unit inside the EV manufacturer Rivian, ALSO was officially spun off into an independent micromobility enterprise. Backed by an initial $105 million funding round led by Eclipse Ventures, the startup builds lightweight, full-stack electric platforms. Rivian remains a prominent minority shareholder, and its CEO, RJ Scaringe, serves as ALSO’s Chairman of the Board.
