We make it GREAT for everyone through quality, delight and Value.Since 1969, when KWAL was incorporated with the objective of providing an avenue for importation and distribution of wines and spirits and enable indigenous Kenyans to participate significantly in this sector; we have delighted consumers across Eastern Africa with award winning and quality beverages.As a beverage company dealing with both alcoholic drinks – wines and spirits – and non-alcoholic ones including grape juice and syrup, KWAL’s business includes manufacture, import, distribution, sale and export of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. PRIVATE COMPANY
After 17 years of business partnership with KWAL, Distell Ltd. (SA) became a shareholder in KWAL with 26% shareholding making Kenya’s oldest Wine Maker a private company in December 2014.Currently, Distell has an acquisition of 55.44% shareholding of KWAL. Distell is a world renowned South African Company and is Africa’s leading producer and marketer of spirits, fine wines, ciders and ready-to-drinks (RTDs). The other shareholder is Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC) with 43.77% shareholding. ICDC was established in 1954; ICDC has over 60 years of experience and stability in promoting projects that create wealth and jobs for Kenyans in diverse sectors of the economy. The balance of shareholding is shared amongst a few other investors.

KWAL is committed to maintaining the highest standard of conduct and professionalism and towards this end has in place a Code of Conduct, a Whistle Blowing policy and Conflict of Interest policy.Our Code of Conduct is aimed to promote ethical behavior in the Company and provides a guide on conduct and values.The Whistle Blowing policy facilitates reporting by employees and stakeholders of activity that they consider to be illegal or dishonest. The Policy facilitates those individual employees or stakeholders to raise concerns, issues or information of acts or conduct that are illegal and unlawful, gross misconduct, unethical business practice, in breach of KWAL’s Code of Conduct and other KWAL Policies. Provision is made for anonymous whistle blowing and a clear procedure on how to report is set out.
