The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) is established under the DataProtection Act, 2019, which was assented to by President Uhuru Kenyatta on 8th November 2019. Consequently, the assention to the bill gave way for the appointment of the first Data Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya, Ms. Immaculate Kassait, MBS
