Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
• A PhD or equivalent degree qualification (or a Master's degree qualification in special cases) in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized and University
• Served in the grade of Lecturer/Research Fellow or in a comparable position for a minimum period of three (3) years or six (6) years research/industry experience
• A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent of which twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals
• Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer/Research Fellow;
• Be registered by a relevant Professional Body (where applicable); and vi. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-
• Lecturing specific units of specialization in accordance with the curriculum
• Preparing students progress reports
• Carrying out research work in the relevant field of specialization
• Conducting seminars/workshops or symposia;
• Coordinating of courses, projects and practical work
• Preparing teaching/learning materials
• Setting, invigilating and marking examination/assignments
• Developing proposals to attract research grants
• Writing journal articles and books;
• Presenting academic papers in conferences/seminars/workshops or symposia
• Peer-reviewing of publications in academic journalsDeveloping and reviewing academic programmes/curricula
• Supervising Lecturers, Tutorial/Junior Research Fellows, and students
• Developing linkages and collaborations for student exchange programs
• Undertaking consultancy services and community engagement.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Chairperson of Department.

Job Description
Job Title: Swimming Instructor (1) Posts

Qualification
• Lifeguard Certificate or Diploma from a recognized institution
• First Aid Certification
• Creativity for swimming lessons
• Previous experience in participation in KSF (Kenya Swimming Federation) events will be an added advantage
• Experience in coaching a swim team is highly desirable
• Minimum of 2 years of lifeguard experience
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
• Confidentiality and integrity
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and good communication skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide swimming lessons to students and others.
2. Open the pool each day and close it down each evening, depending on schedule and hours
3. Treat the pool with appropriate concentration of chemicals on a regular schedule, test the pH and chlorine level of the water
4. Perform first aid procedures when necessary
5. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pool facility e.g cleaning the pool, benches, pool deck and proper disposal of trash
6. Oversee activities at the facility
7. Explain and enforce rules, regulations and policies to ensure safety swimmers;
8. Monitor designated areas to recognize signs of danger and give recommendations
9. Respond to emergencies and rescue swimmers in danger of drowning
10. Report incidents and give possible solutions
11. Maintain a friendly environment for all pool customers

• Teach and deliver exceptional, real world, enquiry-based History lessons that align with the Kenya curriculum requirements.
• Maintain positive, constructive and professional relationships with students, their families and colleagues.
• Develop lessons plans and partner with the Learning Design Team in reviewing and updating lessons when required/ desired.

• Serve as teacher on duty and/or boarding teacher on duty and support school wide programs aimed at behavior interventions.
• Timely capture of students data on academic outcomes and articulation of students progress to NP families and other stakeholders when called upon to do so.
• Serve as a home room teachers when called upon to do so.

Duties and responsibilities of the Registrar (Academic and Students affairs) Grade 15 will include but not limited to:
• Oversee the smooth running of various sections in the Academic Division as stipulated in the statute to ensure programs and delivery is carried out as per the legal frame works.
• Learning resources and facilities
• E-learning centers
• Students’ admission services
• Teaching and learning programmes
• Examination services including preparation of graduation and certification.
• Marketing the University programmes
• Preparation of Academic Almanac
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards for all academic programmes for adherence to
• set out regulations and accreditation policies.
• Provide secretarial services to the Senate, Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics and Students
• Affairs and Deans Committee.
• Coordinate performance contracting, Monitoring and Evaluation to ensure the University operates within set targets.
• Participate in preparation of the Divisional budget.
• Ensure all programs on offer are aligned to the Strategic Mission of the University.
• Participate in strategic planning for the Division.
• Any other duty as assigned by the Supervisor
