About the Role
• The successful candidate will join CfA’s Knowledge team to lead a revamp/refresh of our existing MOOC platform, restructuring and updating existing courseware, while also improving the functionality and user experience on the platform (with support from CfA’s tech and content teams).
• A major focus for the role will be to build courses that are modular, with core lessons teaching key skills, complemented by elective modules that offer topic/tool specific add-on skills. CfA courseware is intended to be flexible enough to be easily customised or repackaged for different audiences by our in-country staff trainers or university partners. The MOOC courseware also serves as the master curricula for teaching kits for our in-person/offline training workshops, as well as template course materials for our university partners.
• CfA’s curriculum developer will be responsible for benchmarking our learning materials on global best-practices, and will also lead our joint development of new courses with both internal and external stakeholders to create learning solutions.
• The candidate should have a strong strategic analysis and critical thinking skills, as our projects are varied and fast-paced, so you need to quickly understand and learn new things. You will need to possess a keen attention to detail and a good eye for both quality and aesthetics. You should be comfortable handling multiple tasks with multiple ongoing deadlines and should have previous experience working on the digital collaboration tools that CfA uses, such as Slack, Google Drive, and Trello.

Responsibilities:
Your daily responsibilities will include:
• Conceptualising and designing master curricula, in consultation with CfA programme teams and external domain experts, for modular, task-driven experiential courses that function as both self-directed e-learning and as in-person courseware of instructors.
• Developing courseware support materials, including facilitator guides and user-manuals; participant materials and exercises/assignments; and course handouts/toolkits.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Chief officer shall be responsible for:
• General administration ans co-ordination of the functions of the respective department
• Providing strategic policy direction for effective and efficient service delivery in the department
• Management of the departmental performance
• Formulation and effective implementation of departmental programs aligned to the county integrated development plan (CIDP) and vision 2030
• Implementation of laws, policies and regulations , formulated by the county and the national government
• Promoting National Values an Principles of governance and values and principles of public service outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the constitution of kenya 2010
• Performing any other duties as maybe assigned from time to time.

Requirements for Appointment For appointment to this position, a person should:
• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
• Have at least ten (10) years relevant professional experience, five years of which should be in a leadership position or senior management level in the Public Service or Private Sector;
• Have a proven experience in managing resources in a high performing organization;
• Possess knowledge and skills in any of the following areas: Project Planning and Management; Public Financial Management; Human Resource Management; Conflict Resolution Management; Strategic Management and Leadership;

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Coordination and representation
• Build a working relationship at the county level with the committee that will provide technical oversight of the project from the Ministry of Education and UNICEF working closely with Save the Children Education Advisor.
• Represent Save the Children at county level forums.
• Ensure close collaboration with partners designated to implement other components of the project.

Programme technical delivery.
• Provide child protection to OOSC who have been enrolled to school. These services include psychosocial support, rescue and alternative family care for enrolled children in need of care & protection liaising with the county directorate of children services.
• Work closely with the County Coordinators of Education & Protection and Sub County Education/Children Officers as s/he implement the project activities. This will require building and sustain effective close working partnerships with sub county government counterparts through active sharing of information and knowledge to facilitate programme
• Build capacity of stakeholders to achieve and sustain results of the OOSC education project in the county
