Position Summary
The Nutrition Lead will be a national position and reports to the Deputy Project Manager. He/she will be based in the IFDC Fort Portal office. The Nutrition Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all nutrition related trainings modules are developed and continually refined based on learnings and developments in the local context. The Lead will also be held responsible for rolling out training components and behavior change campaign materials related to nutrition at the household-level, including hygienic food preparation and storage and the importance of dietary diversity. The Lead will also liaise with GAIN and DIETS to ensure that the projects learn from and complement each other.

Duties & Responsibilities.
• Coordinate the implementation of nutrition status surveys and disseminate findings to relevant stakeholders
• Develop nutrition strategy for the project
• Design and adapt nutrition training materials for different audiences including farmer groups, households and subsistence and market-oriented farmers.
• Design and adapt nutrition social behavior change communication materials to locally specific context
• Ensure integration of nutrition approaches with household visioning and planning exercise and climate smart agricultural training program on promoting crop diversification and nutritional values.
• Link with existing nutrition structures at sub county and district level to ensure coordination and maximum outreach of activities.
• Create synergies with other nutrition programs/projects including DIETS to ensure maximum impact of activities and better awareness of and access to nutrition services within the project areas.

Job Summary:
The Inclusive Business Specialist is responsible for shaping and delivering technical assistance to SME food processor clients in Kenya. S/he will work closely with clients and value chain experts (short-term consultants) who are brought on-board to develop the IBPs and IMPs, as well as liaise with staff from TechnoServe’s Alliance for Inclusive and Nutritious Food Processing (AINFP) program, to:
• Develop and support implementation of Inclusive Business Plans (IBPs): oversee technical assistance and cost-share (co-investment) towards implementation of IBP recommendations
• Support optimization and implementation of Inclusive Marketing Plans (IMPs) to help clients effectively reach BoP markets.
• The Inclusive Business Specialist will report to the Program Manager.

TechnoServe aims to achieve two long-term goals through this program: 1) Catalyze inclusive growth, both upstream and downstream, of gender-diverse SME food processors in Sub-Saharan Africa; and 2) Increase women-led business’ access to resources (finance and technical knowledge/skills) and profitability, in order to fuel women’s economic empowerment across Sub-Saharan Africa. Requirements for Appointment
• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Be in possession of a first degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
• Possession of a Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage;
• Senior management Course lasting not less than one month will be an added advantage.
• Have knowledge, experience and distinguished career of not less than ten (10) years in the field relevant to the portfolio of the department to which the person is seeking to be considered, three (3) of which should have been at a senior/managerial level in government or a large organization;
• In addition to the above qualifications the applicant must meet the requirements indicated in section 35(3) of the County Governments Act;
• Be computer literate; and
• Trans-Nzoia County residents are required to indicate their Sub-County and Ward of residence.
