• In order to fulfill its mandate, PACIDA is looking for professionally confident, self-motivated, experienced and committed team player to fill the position of Lobby and Advocacy Advisor to be based in Marsabit.
• The Lobby and Advocacy Advisor will be responsible for supporting programming of PACIDA’s “KEN 1207-22 / SRAPLEA II” project with a focus on international and national lobbying and advocacy promotion taking into account: Pastoralism, Livestock, Natural Resource management, Cross-border issues, Food and Nutrition security, inclusive of building community resilience to plan, prepare for and respond to disasters.
• The ideal candidate will be an influencer and thought leader, championing and shaping agendas on Lobby and Advocacy on Pastoralism & Climate change adaptation. He/She will lead the project’s advocacy agenda. He/She will build relationship, partnership and networks for the execution of effective advocacy strategies. He/She is both hands-on and able to do project design, planning, project management, and analysis. Based in Marsabit and reporting to the Programme Coordinator, the incumbent’s duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Lobby & Advocacy Advisor will be responsible for shaping the organizations’ response to emerging policy trends and other advocacy issues.
• Working with a variety of stakeholders, they play a key role in horizon scanning and maximizing the organizations’ opportunities for external engagement, thereby furthering the advocacy course.
• Developing, preparation, and conduct regular communication/ advocacy needs assessments on the project.
• Leading the execution of the projects’ advocacy initiatives. (Define advocacy priorities, targets, and strategies at the regional level with a focus on advancing policy change, raising awareness of the project’s s work, and influencing decision-makers to prioritize climate change adaptation activities)

Main Responsibilities
• Development and supervision of in-office and mobile case management response
• Ensure that the case management system for children in need of protection is aligned with national protection system and adheres to the main inter-agency standardized operating procedures and tools (CPMS, CM guidance).
• Contribute to designing and delivering a capacity building plan for case workers, including refresher trainings and workshops throughout the project’s timeframe.
• Provide on-the-job mentoring and technical guidance to caseworkers in all the project locations.
• Hold regular meetings with Psychosocial Senior Officer, Case Management/ BID Officers and Empowernment Senior Officer to ensure that the cases identified at sectional levels receive appropriate and timely support.
• Together with the line manager, ensure the establishment and implementation of work plans, setting clear targets, activities and locations.
• Ensure that case workers thoroughly follow the case management steps ensuring that each step is properly implemented and documented.
• Support individual cases where required and provide regular monitoring of all aspects of case management services.
• Conduct weekly supervision meetings with all caseworkers, providing technical advice on cases and psychosocial support to caseworkers.
• Schedule and supervise case management meetings at least every two weeks. Share minutes of case management meetings with team and line manager.
• Monitor timescales for response, decision-making, placement, follow-up and review.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implementation of case management activities for children, their parents, caregivers and families in need of protection at Korogocho informal settlement, Nairobi.
• Child Protection Casework Officer intervenes in the case identification and registration, Case planning, referral and follow-up of the beneficiaries in collaboration with Community Child Protection Mentors.
• Ensure that the consent/assent to proceed with the case management from both the child, the parent and/or caregiver and legal guardian for children is sought.
• Supervises and provide training for Community mentorsin structural case management to reinforce their skills and capacity to conduct interviews, fill data collection forms, refer and follow-up with children at household level.
• Develop an individual action plan for each beneficiary that responds to needs addressed in initial and comprehensive assessments and seek support of the Project Manager whenever necessary.
