Job Purpose:
• To review maintenance procedures and work instructions, supervise QA Engineers, conduct audits and investigations in order to ensure an airworthy, reliable, quality product/service is provided in a cost effective manner. To ensure that technical staff work within the framework of the Kenya airways company procedures, and to coordinate and conduct company approval exams through the Quality Assessment Board for the Engineers applying for company authorization and recommend, or otherwise to Quality Manager for issue of authorizations. To satisfy the requirements of KCAA/EASA Part 145.A.65 and to maintain an independent Quality System.

Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):
• Carry out planned audits/Inspections/spot checks/surveys as the lead auditor of all Technical Department sections and provide written reports.
• Ensure follow-up on audit findings, verify closures and close audit findings including monitoring the effectiveness of any corrective action from feedback and by direct surveillance
• Manage periodic and random audits within KQ Technical Department to ensure compliance with KCAA, FAA, EASA and Kenya Airways standards
• Carry out audits/Inspections/spot checks/surveys of aircraft maintenance at base, line stations and any contracted sites used by Kenya Airways.
• Carry out audits/Inspections/spot checks/surveys of the facilities at any contracted sites and at base, checking that tools and equipment are kept in good condition and acceptable standards of storage exist.
• Carry out audits/Inspections/spot checks/surveys for the material supply and storage system including facilities and records; this will encompass checks on certification documents, labelling, stores inspection, binning and shelf life control.
• Log in reported occurrences/incidents into QA database, investigate all incidents/occurrence reports as applicable, and report as applicable to KCAA/EASA/Customer’s Civil Aviation Authority/Operators and share incident reports with all stakeholders and follow up on the implementation of recommendations.

Job Purpose:
• To ensure regulatory requirements are upheld and that constant maintenance standards and organization procedures are applied to KQ/Customer aircraft to the end that an airworthy, reliable, quality product is provided and that this is done in a cost-effective manner.

Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):
• Conducts planned and ad-hoc audits/inspections/spot checks/surveys individually or under guidance of SQAE of all Technical sections within KQ and provide written reports.
• Assess the data gathered during these audits/inspections/spot checks/surveys and communicate any discrepancies in writing to heads of sections. These will be in the form of a formal report detailing any findings, which must be addressed with corrective action and the time frame in which it must be achieved.
• Follow up and verify audit closure actions. Monitor the effectiveness of any corrective action from the feedback and by direct surveillance.
• Log in reported occurrences into QA database, then review and classify them in order to report as applicable to KCAA/EASA/Customer’s Civil Aviation Authority/Operators.
• Participate in incident investigations under guidance of SQAE.
• Review authorization applications.

Job Purpose:
• To ensure healthy, safe and secure working environment within the AMO in compliance with the relevant industry, regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, industry best practices and requirements of customer airlines. This is incorporated with the responsibility of coordinating occupational safety, health and environment programs throughout the AMO and the coordination of activities relevant in the maintenance of SMS and ISO Integrated Management System.

Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):
• Ensure implementation of the Safety Management System within the AMO in line with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate activities relevant to the maintenance of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001).
• Conduct Hazard and Risk analysis to lead to the management of the AMO’s safety risk program
• Review regulatory and industry best practice requirements relevant to the AMO that need to be documented on Safety & Health and on Environment & Sustainability.
• Coordinate the AMO’s Emergency Response activities to cover occupational accidents; injuries, fires, spills, dangerous goods etc.
• Collect, collate and analyze periodic industrial safety reports.
• Coordinate the Safety Action Group/Health & Safety Committee (SAG/HSC) meetings and assume the role of the secretary to the committee as stipulated in the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
• Conduct safety audits/inspections/surveys in line with statutory and company requirements.
• Investigate workplace incidents and accidents within the AMO and make appropriate recommendations for action.
• Follow up on corrective actions from audits, inspections and investigations to ensure closure/implementation within the agreed timeframe.
