Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead in the development and implementation of water-related fraud detection procedures.
• Formulate appropriate security policies and procedures in accordance with thestandards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Plan, budget, and coordinate the security section.
• Oversee and manage all investigative activities and ensure that criminal proceedings for any cases of violation of the Water Act are instigated.
• Lead all security and investigation activities to eliminate the possibility of illegal water consumption and related fraud against the company and develop/ implement ways to detect and control consumption fraud.
• Train on anti-fraud management and general security investigations, detection, and prevention of fraud.
• Continually review the total security situation of the Company and propose improvements in the procedures, facilities, and equipment so as to ensure the ongoing security of Company assets, staff, and visitors.
• Develop the selection standards for the security contractor and advise on the company’s security requirements and qualifying conditions for the providers.
• Continually review and update the outsourced security service contract, oversee the performance of the service provider and report to management as needed.
• Review security reports submitted by the contractor, carry out the necessary investigations and prepare a report for management, including necessary follow-on action.
• Carry out security and fire risk assessment audits and ensure that all facilities are adequately protected and in cases where risk areas are identified, propose, and implement solutions.
• Oversee maintenance and update of fire equipment and security records.
• Organize and oversee the implementation of firefighting training for staff, inconsultation with the fire engine department within the local authority.
• Prepare and present security reports to the senior management team and Managing Directoras required.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in Criminology/Security studies/Disaster management or any area relevant to security.
• 6 years’ experience in both physical and systems security.
• Previous training in the disciplined forces.
• Courses in fraud management, disaster preparedness, first aid, and security management will be a plus.
• Possess good written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications; and
• Must fulfill requirements of chapter six (of the Kenyan Constitution.
