JOB DETAILS:
• As Chief Engineer, you are responsible for the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including energy conservation. You are also responsible for the development of the Engineering Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering, as required for hotel standards.

What will I be doing?
• Lead the Engineering Team in the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, including service standards, equipment schedules, and work schedules
• Develop systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of Guests and Team Members, as well as the proper conditions for plants, machinery, and property
• Communicate with Government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations
• Prepare Capital and Repairs and Maintenance budgets for Engineering
• Perform daily checks around the hotel
• Conduct lift emergency release procedures as required
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotel
• Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers
• Maintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations arise
• Develop, implement, and direct all emergency programs
• Develop, implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses
• Coordinate renovation bidding, define the cost and scope of the project, and oversee the general contractor and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed cost effectively
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
• Identify and introduce environmentally-friendly systems and equipment
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the Engineering Department and take corrective action, as required, to improve equipment inventory, quality audit, productivity, and other objectives
• Manage all Team Member related activities, including recruitment, performance management, training, career planning, disciplinary matters, and team motivation

Work Experience
• Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering
• A degree in Engineering or similar
• Exposure to budgeting and basic accounting
• Good communication skills
• Committed to delivering a high level of customer service
• Strong leadership skills and previous experience of managing a team
• Ability to work under pressure
• Previous experience in facilities management

Duties and Responsibilities:
• General administration in respect of the budget of the assigned County Department;
• Being the Accounting Officer and authorized officer of the department;
• Provision of strategic policy direction for the effective delivery of services by the department;
• Development and implementation of county strategic plans and sector development plans;
• Facilitating the achievement of the goals and objectives of the County Government and Intergovernmental programs and projects;
• Ensuring efficient and effective utilization of financial, Human and other Resources in the Department and submitting regular statutory reports as required;
• Ensuring promotion and compliance with National Values and Principles of Governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010;
• Overseeing implementation and monitoring of performance management systems;
• Formulate and implement effective program plans to attain vision 2030 and sector goals;
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Committee Member or the County Secretary;

Requirements for Appointment:
• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Be a holder of at least a first Degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
• A post-graduate qualification in the relevant field will be an added advantage but not mandatory.
• Have relevant knowledge and experience of more than five years in the relevant field.
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and integrity.
• Be conversant with the Constitution of Kenya and all the devolution related legislations.
• Possess an understanding and exhibit commitment to National Values and Principles of Governance and Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 respectively.
• Have the capacity to work under pressure to meet timelines
• Have the ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
• Be a strategic thinker and result oriented;
• Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Be computer literate.

SAP Technical Support

Responsibilities
• Main liaison with SAP service provider in solving internal processes and developing customized adjustments to SAP operations
• Performing daily Internal Audit checks between Stores and production team and submission of report to management.
• Supervise and provide expertise support to SAP users across all departments
• Head regular SAP audits to ascertain efficiency and correctness of data entry and other operations by users
• Retrieve reports, compile and analyze for managerial decision making
• Make recommendations based on audits and process flow in promoting SAP efficiency
• Any other duties relating to SAP operations as maybe assigned from time to time by reporting authority.

Qualifications
• Degree in Business Management or related field
• Relevant experience in SAP Business One operations for minimum of 5 years preferably from Packaging industry
• Certification in SAP will be added advantage
