ILRI works to improve food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR research centres dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world. Co-hosted by Kenya and Ethiopia, it has regional or country offices and projects in East, South and Southeast Asia as well as Central, East, Southern and West Africa.

Key Responsibilities
Content production
• Writing blog posts, evidence explainers and other content as needed
• Organizing submissions for and supporting development of the bi-monthly GENDER newsletter
• Organizing content for and supporting development of communications campaigns, such as for International Days or events

Managing content and assets
• Managing content, publications, training courses and more to GENDER’s virtual resource hub using Drupal CMS
• Uploading and categorizing publications and other outputs on appropriate repositories (CG Space, Youtube, etc.)

Our client, Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) is established under the Sacco Societies Act, CAP 490B with a mandate to license, regulate and supervise the Sacco Sector in Kenya. SASRA is recruiting a Corporate Communications Officer. This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –
• Implementing communication strategies for the Authority.
• Drafting speeches, media briefs and Authority’s newsletters.
• Researching on content to be placed in media for publicity among other content creation.
• Ensuring print and digital information is well documented and stored for future use; and
• Collecting information for the preparation of the Authority newsletter and supplements.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Public Communication, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Arts or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Been registered by a relevant professional body;
• Proficiency in computer applications.

Successful candidates will be required to comply with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution before appointment.
