Job Purpose
• This role will report to the Global Director – GIA Operations, and provide support in the areas of Learning and Development, Talent Management and Capacity Building, in accordance with Partnership practice and the objectives of GIA.
• This role will provide leadership in the development and management of a comprehensive learning and development framework for GIA, which integrates learning and development, capacity building and talent development into staff’s day-to-day work, for improved performance.
• The role involves communicating and consulting with key internal and external stakeholders and thought leaders to leverage resources, implement learning and development programs, processes and improvements, and promote the importance of talent development to enable GIA’s strategic vision and mission. This also includes understanding Partnership Policies and Guidance, and translating these to ensure it is fit for purpose.

Position Summary:
• HIAS seeks to recruit an Accountant who will provide accounting and financial services necessary for the continued operations of the organization and will take care of all the important accounting functions of the organization ensuring that transactions are correctly captured in the most efficient manner and that day-to-day accounting is effectively and efficiently carried out to support the various programs.

Essential Functions:
• Posting of cheque/bank transfer payments into the Netsuite Accounting System
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and mid- year donor financial reports for submission to the Country Director and HIAS Headquarters ensuring that back up of supporting documents are in accordance with HRTK and donor accounting procedures;
• Prepare and facilitate donor verification exercises assisting in review of financial reports backups and vouching of supporting documents;
• Assist in the preparation and coordination for audit of books of accounts by internal and external auditors;
• Participate in budget preparation exercise
• Assist in preparing and monitoring donor monthly burn rates reports for various programs to ensure that the budget lines are not exceeded or under spent.

Responsibilities
• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, and Revenue Recognition.
• Preparing month-end reports for management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budget variances.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and provide accurate financial reports to management.
• Support year-end close processes, coordinate annual financial audits, and implement audit recommendations.
• Formulate and recommend changes in policies or procedures that will improve the department’s performance and strengthen internal controls.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of departmental and company budgets.
• Ensuring compliance with government regulations and timely statutory filing.
• Research and be up to date of emerging technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Execute payroll.
• Support investor reporting needs as needed.
• Additional finance duties as necessary.
