This internship will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, and the intern will be under the general guidance and direct supervision of the of Information Management’s Team Leader. The internship is being offered for a period of six months, starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
• Daily responsibilities will depend on the intern's background and will be related to information management, GIS and/or graphic design where s/he will become familiar with international humanitarian emergency response mechanisms. Duties may include but are not limited to:
• Support production of OCHA ROSEA graphics products, including infographics and maps.
• Support maintenance of the geographic (GIS) & thematic data repository.
• Support the Who-What-Where database, Contact Lists, Email distribution lists and humanitarian key figures update.

Key duties and responsibilities
• Assist in filling, processing, and dispensing medications to patients in safety standards and to ensure quality care for patients;
• Assist in maintaining the drug inventory through inventory control practices;
• Initiate procurement process for medications;
• Keep track and control measures for drugs – ensure there is a prescription accompanying all the drugs request;
• Participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) to stay informed;
• Collaborate with the regulatory body (Pharmacy and Poison’s Board) – Pharmaco- vigilance for information on adverse effects/reactions to prescription drugs;
• Monthly reporting – sales, expenses, breakages, expiries;
• Ensure proper stock management, including management of expired drugs and supplies, reorder levels, obsolete items, stock movement, stock-outs, returns; and
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the jobholder by the supervisor from time to time.

Knowledge, experience, and qualifications required
• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
• Must be registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya and hold a valid practicing license.
• Membership in Kenya Pharmaceutical Association is an added advantage
• Must have graduated in the last year and should be less than

Key duties and responsibilities
• Collect samples, analyze, and dispatch the results to help the physician or doctor to make a patient diagnosis for both inpatient and outpatient;
• Capture patient data for the various tests done accurately as per the established protocols;
• Verify test results to ensure they meet the quality thresholds in line with established quality guidelines;
• Interpret the results into a report that can be used to make a diagnosis;
• Timely dispatch of the results to the patient;
• Daily troubleshooting and calibration of the lab equipment for accuracy of results;
• Ensure and maintain a high level of hygiene in the working space;
• Ensure the proper segregation of lab waste according to the WHO standards;
• Ensure that there are sufficient lab consumables – keep the right levels/quantities;
• Group and cross-match blood for the transfusion process;
• Produce weekly and monthly summaries in collaboration with the health records unit; and
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned to the jobholder by the supervisor from time to time.

• Support social media campaigns; preparation of presentations; support organization of events; web page updates; preparation of audiovisual content.
• Support to develop communication materials based on good practices, impact example and achievements.
• Support in conducting research and surveys.
• Format content, draft abstracts and summaries.
• Research and create resources guide on specific topics.
• Support proofreading of documents by partner organizations.
• Support development of relevant materials such as flyers and other PR materials.
• Support web-search, collecting and organizing information on DRR related subjects and activities by partners.
• Assist in editing and drafting messages, biographies, reports and articles.
• Assist in managing the Regional Offices social media accounts (content and posting).
• Support in organization of events and meetings, including Global Platform 2022.
• Support the work related the DRR initiatives and campaigns including "Making Cities Resilient", "International Day for Disaster Reduction", "World Tsunami Awareness Day", "Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments" and "International Recovery Platform".
