PURPOSE:
The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining quality Assets through monitoring and reporting the credit risk of the Bank at customer account and portfolio level in compliance with credit policy and Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) prudential guidelines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitoring of covenants and conditions of sanction through: Capturing covenants/conditions of sanction in the Covenant Tracker/ Loan Origination system/within set timeframe; Identifying overdue covenants/breaches; Timely sharing of the covenants/breaches with stakeholder/portfolio owners and updating breaches for approvals and follow up of the same.
• Following up on covenants waived at the point of disbursement as captured by the credit Administration team.
• Reviewing and ensuring compliance with specific covenants meant to ensure sustenance of quality portfolio and favorable returns from specific relationships such as routing banking's through I&M Bank, assignment and routing of rentals and sales proceeds through escrow account at I&M Bank. Any breaches are highlighted followed up for compliance or approved.
• Reviewing expired insurance policies and initiating effective follow-up with customers/insurance companies.
• Monitoring of up-to-date property valuations against securities on customer facilities. Reviewing maintenance of valuation reports in the system and initiating monthly follow up for fresh valuations for expired Valuations, highlighting cases where the value of securities is eroded.
• Identifying and reviewing the Bank’s panel of a valuers based on performance
• Monitoring of government securities /shares trading facilities and ensuring adequate collateral cover.
• Following up on deferred securities and policy exceptions sanctioned to ensure they are complied with within the set timelines
• Quality Checks on Letters of Offer and disbursed facilities to ensure they are in line with the approved sanction terms.
• Comparing and synchronizing exceptions identified with exceptions captured by the disbursement team.
• Monitoring and following up of perfection of securities where approvals are granted to disburse certain facilities pending completion of perfection.
• Reviewing and updating the credit monitoring related policies and guidelines.
• Reviewing of exception reports to ensure these are accurately documented and where necessary remedial action undertaken.
• Reviewing maintenance of land rent and rate payment receipts and initiating regular follow up on annual payments
• Following up for copies of filing receipts company annual returns
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution, business related professional certification will be an added advantage.
