Job summary
Our client a leading provider of Information Technology and Technical solutions to Government Ministries, Local Governments and, Private Sector across the globe is looking to hire a skilled and talented Open source software developer. The Developer will help to advance open-source software on the platform. In this role, the developer will also be responsible to port open-source code, upstream patches, enabling CI/CD, a wide range of open-source software including databases, programming languages, as well as the most modern cloud enablement software.

Roles and responsibilities
• Be a part of the requirements gathering process
• Implementing and integrating a new Linux-based monitoring platform for the data center
• Working with network engineers to initiate or create automated processes for customer infrastructure
• Design and develop web and command-line tools for our support staff
• Responsible for designing and developing web and command-line tools instrumental in automating processes that affect every part of the business

Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineer or equivalent
• Minimum 4 yrs. relevant experience in C or C++ or Java and Linux16:43
• At least 2-year experience developing in 3G programming languages (C/C++/JAVA etc.)
• At least 1 year working on porting assignment/projects
• 1-year experience with databases (developing, optimizing, scaling)
• solid understanding of Linux
• solid grasp of computer architecture (x86, System Z or POWER instruction set)
• Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational,
• operational or process problems
• Experience in developing technical solutions for clients
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate across teams and with clients
• Self-motivated and an aptitude to learn and apply knowledge quickly

Job Objective:
Provide first-level support for clients, resolve incidents, identify problems through pro-active monitoring and manage planned engineer works. To be acknowledged as the client’s champion ensuring high levels of satisfaction and an excellent client experience. Provide backup support to the NMC.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Interface with clients for service assurance and service delivery queries, achieving high levels of client satisfaction
• Proactively monitor alarm management systems for events, create, own, and manage trouble tickets to successful resolution
• Supplier incident management
• Incident management, trouble shooting and resolution of first level technical issues
• Ensure all service tickets have correct closure data
• Use of and ensuring data integrity of systems
• Assist Service Managers as required and produce reason for outage reports
• Assist with planned engineering works, including service impact analysis and client notifications
• Identify service concerns, issues, challenges and escalate to NMC/TAC and management
• Maintain accurate records, assist with auditing and data cleansing as directed
