On behalf of our client in the petroleum industry, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced DevOps Platform Engineer.

Job summary:

Reporting to DevOps Team Lead, the DevOps Platform Engineer’s overall objective is to Support the development, deployment, and operation of our software in AWS (Amazon Web Services) enabling the frequent, secure, and reliable release of software to production. Assist our developers to deliver excellent software by providing the tools, environments, source control, and automated testing and deployment that they need.

Scope
The full set of our client’s bespoke software in development, test, and production environments for our businesses in Kenya, Tanzania, and elsewhere.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Automate and run the build, test, and deployment of our software in AWS
• Build and maintain tools, solutions, and microservices associated with the deployment of our platform.
• Manage code deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes.
• Enable continuous development and integration (CI/CD) and support developers to use the CI/CD pipeline.
• Implement monitoring tools to detect issues, measure performance, and provide telemetry for developers.
• Design and build infrastructure that delivers high uptime using High Availability designs and self-healing systems
• Develop operational dashboards and alarms.
• Monitor performance and capacity and introduce solutions to maintain service levels.
• Actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and catch and solve issues before release
• Troubleshoot operational incidents
• Ensure security good practice is followed in deployment and operations.
• Assist in establishing DevOps practices

Key Responsibilities
• Receiving, registering and maintaining records at the central archive.
• Organize and arrange records in a central archive for ease of retrieval.
• Oversee establishment and maintenance of branch registries.
• Implement a records management program in accordance with the Sacco records management policy.
• Continuously train staff on records and archives management & operations.
• Manage and provide an inventory of Sacco records.
• Develop and maintain physical and electronic registers of all records both at the branch level and those moved to the central archive.
• Coordinate the filing, indexing, digitization and disposal of obsolete records with expired conservation periods.
• Preparing disposal schedules in accordance with government regulations and Sacco policies.

Essential Requirements
• Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in records management, a higher national diploma in records management, and at least five years of relevant work experience.
• The candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and document management system (DMS).
• The candidate must have excellent skills in supervision communication, problem-solving, report writing, creativity and innovativeness, and interpersonal relations.t

Competencies and Skills
• Hands-on experience in PHP, Javascript ,Vue or React and MySQL .
• Excellent analytical skills including ability to work with unstructured information.
• Must be able to handle complex problems independently, and evaluate alternative approaches to problem solving.
• Strong grasp of object oriented programming concepts and design patterns, with the ability to model solutions using UML.
• Knowledge of agile software development practices including test-driven development.
• Good technical writing and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication skills.
