The Health Safety and Security (HSS) Coordinator is the content expert and reference point for health, safety, and security at national level. He/She works under the direct supervision of the Country Director of HIAS Kenya, and the technical supervision of the Regional Safety & Security Manager for Africa and Eurasia. The HSS Manager is responsible for managing the global and regional HSS Management system and maintain and enhance the national HSS structure, plans and processes in order to support efficiently HIAS programs in Kenya.

Essential Functions:
Responsibilities

• Ensure legal compliance to any occupational health, safety and security legislation and duty of care
• Development and implementation of HIAS HSS Management System at national level
• Conduct ongoing health, safety, and security risk assessments (SRA) and oversee implementation of risk mitigation measures including conducting site-specific health, safety and security reviews of HIAS offices and other program-related sites, as well as advise on the location of new sites.
• Monitor, assess and report on HSS risk management, traveler safety, duty of care and compliance with policy, standards and processes.
• Facilitate security plans in accordance with HIAS standards and the use of existing templates, forms and processes.
• Provide regular safety updates and briefings to staff, including visitor briefings and onboarding procedures for new staff members.
• Supervise and manage any security services if applicable.
• Promote international standards on traveler HSS to and from the national office and ensure compliance with travel management policy.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Receive written prescriptions or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
• Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
• Answer telephones, responding to questions or requests.
• Fill bottles with prescribed medications and type affix labels.
• Assist clients by answering simple questions, locating items or referring them to the pharmacist for medications information.
• File prescriptions that have been filled.
• Clean, help maintain, equipment and work areas and sterilize glassware according to prescribed methods.
• Establish and maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients.
• Order, label and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
• Mix pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions.
• Compute charges for medication and equipment dispensed to hospital patients and enter data in computer.
• Dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients, nursing stations and other departments.
• Price stock and mark items for sale.
• Providing information to supervisors, co-workers and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail or in person.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
• Using relevant information and individual judgement to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards.
• Observes professional ethics for the benefit of the law, the patient, the relatives of the patient and colleagues.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Diploma in Pharmacy.
• Enrolled by pharmacy and poison board.
• At least 2 years’ experience.

The Nurse Case Advisor uses their clinical knowledge to conduct medical necessity reviews for the clinical services recommended to our customers, confirm they are medically necessary and can be covered under the client / customer's policy terms and conditions
• Manages/coordinates an active volume of cases by providing information, navigation and coordination to customers worldwide.
• Works with a multicultural population and is constantly aware of the cultural differences among that population.
• Establishes patient centric goals and interventions to meet the member’s needs
• Interfaces with the member, family members/caregivers, and the healthcare team, as well as internal matrix partners.
• Balances business needs with patient advocacy
• Work with Cigna physicians to evaluate complex cases and receive appropriate clinical expertise on diagnosis and treatment plans
• Coordinate care with other nurses from other regions around the world when a need for local or regional expertise is important for better care or to comply with regulations
• Maintains accurate workflow and process documents
• Adheres to professional practice within scope of licensure and certification quality assurance standards and all case management policy and procedures
• Participates in unit and corporate training initiatives and demonstrates evidence of continuing education to maintain clinical expertise and certification as appropriate.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to culturally diverse situations, clients and customers

Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor in Nursing, 3-5 years of clinical experience ideally, in international clinical management
• Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrates problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to act as an “advocate” for the customer while complying with internal policies and procedures and contractual/legal compliance requirements
• Ability to operate personal computer, proficient with Microsoft office products, call center software, and a variety of software.
• Ability to build solid working relationships with staff, matrix partners, customers and providers
