Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will be responsible for:
• controlling and supervision of buildings under construction or specialized work of running aRequirements for Serving Officers For promotion to this grade, an officer must:-
• have Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering awarded by Kenya National Examinations Council, or equivalent qualifications recognized by KNEC;
• have served in the relevant field in Grade 5/6 (V/VI) for at least three (3) years;
• have competency in computer applications particularly in Architectural and Civil/Structural Engineering packages; and
• have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and resultsrepair and maintenance works;
• assisting in planning a building programme;
• ensuring that construction work in progress is in accordance with the specifications of the drawings by architects and engineers; and
• monitoring work progress as per schedule in addition to estimating costs.
Requirements for direct appointment
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must:-
• have Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering awarded by Kenya National Examinations Council, or equivalent qualifications recognized by KNEC;
• have worked with a large organization or Government for at least four (4) years; and
• have competency in computer applications particularly in Architectural and Civil/Structural Engineering packages.

Desired Competences/Qualifications:
• Degree or Diploma in Electrical engineering with at least 5 years experience in a similar role
• Must have a KCSE certificate
• Professional training experience in security electronic system , perimeter fence and administration
• Sound base knowledge in electronic alarm wire fences
