As part of the engineering department you will provide QA expertise and assurance to enable us to thoroughly test our hardware designs, ensuring we always deliver high quality products. You will define tests, test plans and test reports. You will work with engineering to design new test fixtures, own such fixtures and manage their usage in test execution. You will work with production support teams to migrate any tests over to our production partners,oversee their execution and monitor their results. You will work with operational support teams to understand failures in the field, assist in root cause analysis and create new or adapt existing test plans to address such failures. You will have a background in mechanical, embedded software or electronics engineering background which you will use to gain a deep understanding of our network hardware. Aside from being skilled in your background area, you should be comfortable working as an individual contributor as well as part of the wider engineering team

What you will do
• Test management. Track what has been tested on what revisions, what tests are needed for each milestone, and arrange the resources to complete testing for upcoming milestones.
• Evaluate new product concepts from a quality perspective, and define the scope of required testing/QA activities
• Plan and execute functional, non-functional, and acceptance tests during new product development
• Work closely with other teams in Engineering, Product and Operational Support to ensure a collaborative approach to product quality
• Develop your own areas of technical expertise, and share this knowledge with the rest of the QA team
• Support our operational teams with testing for maintenance updates, as well as ensuring on-going compatibility with third party software and hardware releases
• Be data driven. Use data to inform your actions as well as to help and guide other teams

Job Summary
• The job holder will be responsible for development and execution of the Card Acceptance Strategy to deliver the priorities set and as driven by market forces. This includes and not limited to: driving traditional & digital acceptance and promoting related Absa Bank Card Acquiring acceptance on products, platforms & services to merchants, third parties and strategic merchants in the market, which will combine the art of web design with the art of programming and service excellence.

Key responsibilities:
• Translations of web design UI/UX wireframes and interface with our existing API’s to actual code that will produce visual elements with our merchant websites. The individual will work with our acquiring system interface to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
• Act as the pinnacle point between the merchant, relationship managers and all relevant internal/external stakeholders/colleagues. The individual will be required to establish relationships with internal customers (relationship team, operations team) and all relevant stakeholders
• When opportunities arise, support the relationship managers in delivering professional presentations on the critical steps of card acquiring solution implementation
• Execute and facilitate the implementation process, giving procedural support and recommending proven best practices to all new merchants or existing merchants opening new outlets or seeking new products.

Job Description
Main accountabilities and approximate time split;

Driving Business Performance 80%
• Translations of web design UI/UX wireframes and interface with our existing API’s to actual code that will produce visual elements with our merchant websites. • Implement card Acquiring solutions both on integrated POS and E-Commerce for Absa Card merchants.
• Identify and recommend appropriate action to be taken to drive accelerated business opportunities within the implementation process.
• When opportunities arise, support the relationship managers in delivering professional presentations on the critical steps of card acquiring solution implementation.
• Identification of merchant needs, deadlines, and objectives, and planning ahead in order to manage the merchant and business expectations within the set deadlines.
• Formulation of bespoke project plans for the implementation process, and monitoring of the same with regular updates to management.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Be responsible for the overall administration of a County Department to which he/she is assigned or re-assigned
• Be responsible for needs of the local community and the functions and competences assigned to and transferred to the County.
• Facilitate a culture of public service and accountability in the county public service.

• Be efficient and ensure that the County Departments align their roles and responsibilities with the priorities and objectives set out in the County’s policies and plans
• Organize his/her department and other structures in a flexible way in order to respond to changing priorities and circumstances
• Assign clear responsibilities for the management and coordination of the County department and functions
• Allow participatory decision making as far as practicable.
• Provide an equitable, fair, open and non-discriminatory working environment.
• Submit quarterly reports of the respective department to the County Executive Committee through the respective CEC- Member and to the County Assembly through the County Secretary and to respect the oversight role of the County Assembly by giving information and honoring summons whenever required
• Implement the policies and plans develop by the County Government
• Provision of strategic policy direction for effective service delivery
• To ensure departmental compliance with National Values and Principles of Governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution
• Performance of any other functions conferred by the Constitution, National or County Legislation; and
• Carry out any other function incidental to any of the assigned functions and/or as may be assigned from time to time by the County Governor, the Deputy Governor, the respective CEC-Member for finance or the County Secretary.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this position, a person should:
• Be a Kenyan citizen.
• Holds a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
• A Master’s degree or higher academic qualifications from a university recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage.
• Have at least five (5) years’ relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrate general knowledge of the County Government and its functions.
• County Chief Officer, Accounting, Revenue & Supply Chain Management must have CPA (K)
