The Job
This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial and visionary leader to join and shape the next strategic phase of Triggerise. The Chief Impact Officer is ultimately responsible for delivering impact across our operational markets. You lead all areas of our organisation that implement our programmes on the ground, as well as a number of strategic initiatives that aim to ensure we keep evolving our operations into the future. You are part of the C-suite and operate globally.

Main Responsibility Areas

• Be a transformational leader that provides clear and actionable leadership to your department and in the wider organisation. Based on your skillset we will define your final portfolio together upfront, but teams ideally include Global Operations, Partnerships, Public Sector, MERL and Marketing, roughly 50 FTE (Full Time Equivalent) in total.
• Ensure consistent, high quality delivery in our 5 core markets, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa and Burkina Faso, building on our Kenyan successes.
• Develop and execute the impact strategy for Triggerise with a particular focus on using our platform's technological abilities to create impact.
• Give guidance and provide strategic oversight for partnerships with public and private partners.
• Oversee Triggerise expansion into new markets with regards to impact as well as daily operations. Develop strategic implementation blueprints for new markets and adapt these to the local reality.
• Provide the strategic oversight and guidance that ensures your teams are equipped and enabled to thrive in a complex network organisation that marries tech and NGO.
• Connect data with strategy and impact in a way that means we develop reporting that can be meaningfully and impactfully shared with colleagues, donors and other stakeholders alike.
• Strategically budget and decide on staffing and fund allocation to optimise impact and quality across markets.
• Be a key member of the C-suite of Triggerise, which requires strategic thinking, hands-on implementation and seamless partnerships across the executive team and the organisation.

Key Deliverables
• Successfully scale our impact in the coming years from 300.000 users in 2022 to 1 million users in 2026.
• You meet our monthly and annual targets for each market and deliver on grants deliverables.
• Ensure our ecosystems and associated offers are delivering high quality, sustainable impact.
• Maintain a competitive cost per user in all markets by ensuring Triggerise operates in a cost efficient way.
• Ensure each market is functioning as required according to the growth phase it is in and ensure we have clear blueprints for growth.

This post is located at the UNEP Executive Office in Nairobi. Under the direct guidance and supervision of the Chief of Staff, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

Responsibilities
Advises the Executive Director on programmatic and policy issues by:
• Coordinating strategic prioritization of all invitations addressed to the Executive Director, reviewing, commenting and suggesting courses of action.
• Monitoring and identifying emerging policy and managerial issues in consultation with the Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the Executive Director.
• Preparing and reviewing all background briefing materials for the Executive Director to ensure that it meets the highest standards.

Oversees the coordination of the Executive Director's Team, as well as meeting scheduling and communications through:
• Ensuring the daily supervision of the Executive Director’s team.
• Managing the Executive Director's day-to-day commitments.
• Directing substantive support to the Executive Director's meetings, to include proposing agenda items, identifying participants, preparation of documents and presentations and coordinating follow-up actions.
• Coordinating, planning, preparing and organizing the Executive Director's official travel.

Job Summary
The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Brooke family in the role of Community Development Advisor at a time when the organization is evolving to focus on strengthening linkages with human development priorities to ensure greater sustainable impact for both animals and people. Recognizing that communities have agency and the strong interdependence between communities and their animals, the Community Development Advisor post will act as a catalyst for change within the organisation: challenging, inspiring, guiding, and building the capacity of the organization to both strengthen the strategic linkages of our work to improve equine welfare with improving the livelihoods and well-being of equine owning communities, and affect human behaviour change to promote and sustain equine welfare improvements. Sustainable community development, strategic community engagement, and mainstreaming gender equality throughout our programme activities are critically important to our programmatic success, and comprise the core focus of work for this role.

Criteria
• We are looking for someone with extensive experience planning and implementing sustainable community development projects using participatory approaches within an international development context.
• You will need to be compassionate about empowering communities and their animals’ welfare.
• You will need excellent facilitation and training skills, as well as strong analytical skills to be able to synthesize, use, and effectively promote understanding of complex information for learning and action across a diverse range of audiences and cultural contexts.
• You will possess excellent leadership skills, with the capacity to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, to inspire and motivate change in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent inter-personal skills, including listening and communication, tact, diplomacy, sensitivity and patience are essential qualities for fulfilling this position.
