Education
• Completion of High school diploma or equivalent is required. Supplemental training in human resources, administration or related area is required.
• Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat. The GGST is administered to applicants when required before the administration of a written assessment and/or interview. Successful passing of the Administrative Support Assessment Test (ASAT) in English at the United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ), Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) or International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) may be accepted in lieu of the GGST.

Work Experience
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive work experience in human resources, administration or related field is required.
• Experience in managing recruitment compliance review, similar to United Nations' Central Review bodies is desirable.
• Experience in the area of classification of positions is desirable.
• Experience in the recruitment of staff is desirable.
• Experience in the use of recruitment tools like PeopleSoft or Inspira is required.
• Experience in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP is desirable.
• Work experience of one (1) year or more in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages
• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Role Purpose:
Manage delivery of employee experience in-market, act as technical HR and Policy subject matter expert.
The People Partner will be responsible for making the Moments that Matter come to life for Employees and Line Managers. The key Moments that Matter which span all the Employee Lifecycles that are being delivered through the different services like HR, Workplace, IT, Finance.
The People Partner will ensure Employees and Line Managers understand the support Model that has been put in place for contact for any queries.

Key Responsibilities:
Joining and Onboarding:
• Escalation point for transactional issues in recruitment
• Complete all preparation activities before a new hire joins
• Owns the end to end onboarding process and guides the line manager on the role onboarding
• Check in with new employees on their first week, month and regular check ins to ensure the employee is adjusting

Career Growth and Learning:
• Provide coaching and support to employees

• Manages all disciplinary enquiries for all work levels

Exits:
• Guide employee and Line Manager through exit process to enable smooth implementation
• Conduct exit interviews for all work levels

Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource/Business Management with HR Major or related field of study
• 2-4 years of relevant Human Resource experience. Working closely with Supply chain Business units will be added advantage.
• Proficient & broad understanding of HR systems, processes, and Third-Party providers.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills
• Solid customer service and relationship management skills
• Experience participating in mediations is required, as well as playing a part in alternative dispute resolution

Job Purpose
This position plays a key role in the organizational strength of the company. Your scope of work will cover aspects of Human Resources where you will develop strategies and systems and promote and manage the implementation of Human Resource Policies geared towards building capacities of the Company and office management.

Responsibilities
• Provide leadership support to the country office staff and promote best practices in human resources management, with a strong focus on empowerment.
• Coordinate regular reviews and updates of the human resources policies and procedures for the ABC Expat and ensure compliance with the overall human resources management manual and the national labor laws.
• Provide HR reports and analysis for management decisions including Performance, turnover, discipline, and leave records.
• Provide direction and support in resolving Human Resources and employee relations issues to help foster an effective, productive, progressive employee work environment
• Oversee adequate implementation of the performance management system including developing performance objectives and Key Performance Indicators and coordinating performance appraisals.
• Coordinate the development of staff development plans in line with strategic directions of ABC EXPAT in the country
• Develop clear reporting lines and Job descriptions for the existing roles as well as new ones
• Coordinate and oversee the process of selection and recruitment of staff in accordance with the established rules, procedures, and practices.
• Provide Coaching and Counselling advice to staff when necessary and lead initiatives to develop staff capacity.
• Organize regular meetings with the senior management team and all staff for the purpose of exchanging information, coordination, and learning.
• Ensure that the country’s senior management team is effective, mutually supporting, and sufficiently involved in decision-making.
• Handle Human resources management and development matters relating to terms and conditions of service and discipline, overtime, and staff welfare issues.
• Reviewing and preparing employment contracts and policies for clients that are in line with the Kenyan employment laws

Requirements
