Education
• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is required. A university degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, and/or other related fields is a desirable.
• Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat. Applicants who have not passed the GGST at the time of application may be invited for the test after submitting an application. Having passed the Administrative Support Assessment Test [in English] at the United Nations headquarters, Economic Commission for Africa, Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, United Nations Office at Geneva, United Nations Office at Vienna, International criminal tribunal for Rwanda or International Criminal
• Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia may be accepted in lieu of the GGST.

Work Experience
• A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, administrative services or related area is required.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, is Required.
• Experience working in an executive office or with senior managers is desirable.
• Experience in administrative procedures in the context of an international NGO or a United Nations System Entity is desirable.
• 1 year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages
• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Liaise with clients on their gaps and vacancies
• Prepare Job descriptions and job ads
• Advertise all open positions and obtain relevant applications
• Longlist and shortlist applications and screen candidates
• Conduct relevant research to support the screening process
• Plan and conduct interviews
• Perform reference and background checks
• Take lead in onboarding the new employees
• Prepare employment contracts
• Manage the clients during the recruitment cycle
• Ensure that posts are closed within the required timelines
• Prepare recruitment reports for client and internal use
• Perform other HR generalist duties

Person’s Specifications
• 3 years of work experience in recruitment/talent acquisition specifically for SMEs
• Very strong recruitment knowledge and skills

• HR Qualification and registration
• Competency and experience in other HR functions
• Ability to quickly grasp concepts and find solutions
• Thorough understanding of the Kenya labour laws

Duration and timelines:
This assignment is to be delivered within 1 working day after contracting. The development of the plan is to take 2 days while the meetings with CDTD will take a day each. Total Consultation days are 4.

Qualifications and competencies:

• The candidate preferably has an undergraduate degree and/or professional certifications in human resources; leadership development; diversity, equity and inclusion; mentorship; and/or coaching.
• The candidate should have at least 10 years of professional experience in human resources, organizational development, leadership development, mentorship and/or coaching, preferably in the International Development/Humanitarian Aid Sector.
• The candidate should have experience accessing, tailoring and using mentorship and professional development tools, facilitating trainings and project management.
• The Applicants must describe and explain how and why they are the best candidate to meet the requirements of this solicitation by indicating the following experience in a cover letter of no more than 2 pages:

• Leading mentorship and other leadership development programs
• Collaborating and working with a diverse group of young women
• Designing and implementing mentorship programs
