Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent the hospital and liaise with local and national authorities donor agencies to promote the hospital programs
  • Advice the management and board on clinical requirements
  • Carry out surgical procedure when necessary
  • Conducting internal quality checks at the hospital
  • Develop clinical protocol and procedures in line with the current SOPs
  •   An officer at this level will work under guidance of a senior officer
  • Diagnosing, caring and treating diseases
  • Performing medical and surgical procedures
  • Preparing and responding to emergencies and disasters
  • Participating in management of medicines, medical instruments and equipment
  • Providing health education, maintaining medical records, health information and data.

Requirements for Appointment

  • Be a Kenyan citizen
  • Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelors of Surgery (M.BCh.B.) degree from a recognized University.
  • Minimum of B+ Mean Grade at KCSE
  • Successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution.
  • Registration Certificate from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council (KMPDC).
  • Valid practicing license from KMPDC
  • Training and knowledge in BLS, ACLS and ATLS are added advantages
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution is an added advantage
