Job Purpose

This is the entry grade for this cadre. This position is responsible for agricultural land resource management and agricultural mechanization & technology development

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Academic qualifications

Bachelors of Science or Engineering Degree in any of the following disciplines: Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering, Biosystems and Environmental Engineering, Biosystem Engineering from a recognized institution.

Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies

Registration by Engineers Board of Kenya as a graduate Engineer

Proficiency in computer applications

Satisfy Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity

Experience needed

Previous relevant work experience required.

• Implement interventions on agricultural land resource management
• Prepare designs, specifications and bill of quantities for agriculture infrastructures
• Conduct training and field trials on sustainable agricultural land resource management and technologies
• Conduct training, on-farm trials, demonstrations and technology transfer in smart agriculture and sustainable land management
• Participate in conducting feasibility studies for viability of agricultural mechanization and development projects
• Carry out repairs and maintenance of agricultural machinery and equipment
• Collecting and collating data for research
• Collect and collating data on agricultural land resource, agricultural mechanization & technology development and inventory
• Compile periodic reports
