Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Architect with a strong specialization in Interior Design to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of architectural expertise and interior design acumen, capable of managing projects from conceptualization through execution. This role demands a visionary professional who can translate client needs into innovative, practical, and aesthetically compelling spaces.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Design & Planning

  • Develop comprehensive architectural concepts and design schemes that align with client requirements and project objectives.
  • Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations, and sections using industry-standard CAD and BIM software.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct site analyses and feasibility studies to inform design decisions.

Interior Design & Space Optimization

  • Create innovative interior layouts that maximize space efficiency, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment in collaboration with clients and vendors.
  • Develop detailed interior design concepts, mood boards, and presentation materials.
  • Incorporate sustainable and eco-friendly design practices where applicable.

Project Management & Oversight

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight during construction and fitting phases.
  • Prepare and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.

Regulatory Compliance & Approvals

  • Use your official Architectural Registration License to apply for and obtain planning permissions and other statutory approvals from relevant authorities.
  • Liaise with local planning offices, zoning departments, and compliance bodies to facilitate project approvals.
  • Ensure all designs conform with building codes, planning regulations, environmental standards, and other statutory requirements.

Client Engagement & Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their vision and expectations are met.
  • Present design proposals, concepts, and progress updates effectively and professionally.
  • Incorporate client feedback into ongoing design development and bring in business.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
  • Registered Architect with Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (BORAQS), RIBA, AIA.
  • Valid license to practice as an Architect and to make statutory planning applications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-registration experience, including full project lifecycle delivery.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design excellence and regulatory success.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
  • Exceptional creativity, visualization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
