Job Description
- This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
- Taking oral dictation;
- Word and data processing;
- Managing e-office;
- Handling telephone calls and appointments;
- Ensuring security of office records, documents and equipment;
- Maintaining an up to date filing system in the office;
- Operating office equipment;
- Managing office protocol;
- Managing office petty cash; and
- Handling telephone calls and appointments.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
OR
- Business Education Single and Group Certificates (BES & GC) Stages I, II and III from the Kenya National Examinations Council in the following subjects:
- Typewriting III (Minimum 50 w.p.m.)/Computerized Document Processing III;
- Shorthand II (80 w.p.m);
- Business English II/ Communications 1;
- Secretarial Duties II;
- Commerce II;
- Office Management III/Office Administration and Management III;
- Certificate in computer application skills
Terms of Service
- The successful candidate will be on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service. - Kshs. 48,935/= per Minimum basic salary for this position will range from Kshs. 36,444 month exclusive of allowances.
