About the role
The Block Making Operator will operate, maintain, and optimize the block making machine in compliance with production targets, quality standards, and workplace safety practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate the block making machine to meet daily production targets.
- Prepare and load correct raw material mixes (cement, sand, aggregates).
- Monitor product quality and make real-time machine adjustments.
- Conduct visual inspections of finished blocks for quality and consistency.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in line with 5S practices.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and assist in preventive maintenance.
- Collaborate with team members in production, maintenance, and logistics.
- Document production data, machine settings, maintenance, and deviations.
Qualifications
- KCSE Certificate or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years’ hands-on experience in a construction or industrial production environment, preferably operating a block making machine or related heavy equipment.
- Solid understanding of concrete material properties, mixing ratios, and construction site safety practices.
- Proven ability to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot industrial machinery under dynamic work conditions.
- Familiarity with 5S workplace organization, production tracking, and quality assurance protocols.
- Basic skills in autonomous and preventive maintenance (AM/PM).
- High attention to detail, with a focus on consistency and durability of output.
- Strong physical stamina, ability to work in hot, dusty environments, and a commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially within construction crews or manufacturing teams.
