Background

Maryjoy School was founded in 1998 as a Nursery School, expanded to Primary in 2001 and Junior secondary school in 2023. Our educational program caters to all students.. Our specialized and individualized curriculum caters to students of all abilities, from students of determination to gifted and talented students. The size of the school and the limited numbers ensure that a friendly atmosphere is maintained and that the children’s individual abilities and potential are fully appreciated .In keeping with the school’s mottos the main objective of the school is to inspire and motivate children in both their academic achievements and their personal growth and character.

This teacher delivers lessons across Christian Religious Education, Social Studies, Creative Arts, and Kiswahili, fostering moral, cultural, and creative development.

CRE Responsibilities:

  • Teach Biblical Knowledge: Cover the content, themes, and teachings of the Old and New Testaments.
  • Values and Ethics: Use biblical teachings to discuss moral and ethical issues, fostering character formation.
  • Scripture Analysis: Guide students in reading and interpreting Bible passages.

Social Studies Responsibilities:

  • Civic Education: Teach citizenship, governance, human rights, and the structure of government.
  • Social & Cultural Studies: Explore Kenyan cultures, traditions, and contemporary social issues.
  • Map Reading: Teach basic map reading skills.

Creative Arts Responsibilities:

  • Art and Design: Teach drawing, painting, sculpture, and appreciation of visual arts.
  • Music: Teach singing, rhythm, and appreciation of music from diverse cultures.
  • Drama: Guide students in improvisation, role-play, and performance skills.
  • Creativity: Foster self-expression and creativity through various art forms.

Kiswahili Responsibilities:

  • Teach Language Skills: Develop competencies in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Kiswahili.
  • Kiswahili Literature: Introduce students to Kiswahili literature and oral traditions.
  • Creative Writing: Encourage writing in Kiswahili.

General Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons catering to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Set, administer, and mark tests, assignments, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, orderly, and safe classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate with parents/guardians on student progress.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be Registered by TSC
  • Must have at least 3 yrs
  • Experience in Teaching
  • Knowledge in ICT is an added advantage
  • Excellent communication and writting skills
  • Most be CBE & CBC Compliant
  • Holder of a P1 Certificate or an Upgrades Diploma in Education
  • Willing to contribute in co-curricular activities
