QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pursuant to the provisions of the Urban Areas and Cities Act No. 13 of 2011 and the Amendment Act, of 2019, The Uasin Gishu County Public Service Board wishes to invite applications from qualified, Results Oriented and Self-motivated Staff for appointment in the following positions:

CHAIRPERSON- ELDORET CITY BOARD ONE (1) POSITION

Terms of Appointment:

  • The Chairperson and Board Members shall serve for a term of five (5) years, on a part-time basis.

Requirements for Appointment

  • Holds a bachelor's degree from an institution recognized in Kenya;
  • Has a distinguished career in a medium level management position in either the private or public sector.
  • Holds at least ten years' post-qualification professional experience; and
  • Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Chairperson is the head of the board, responsible for the overall direction and effectiveness of the city board's operations.
  • Ensures the board functions effectively and discharges its duties smoothly and efficiently.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the board's decisions are implemented.
  • The Chairperson chairs meetings of the board, ensuring they are conducted in an orderly and productive manner.
  • Establish the agenda for meetings in consultation with the Board secretary.
  • The Chairperson serves as the spokesperson for the board, representing it in official dealings and communications.
  • Ensure all members are fully involved and informed of business issues requiring decisions.
  • The Chairperson performs such duties as may be delegated by the board,this can include specific tasks related to planning, development, or implementation of projects within the city
