Role Description

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and enabling strategic growth across RAISE Labs’ research, innovation, and educational initiatives. The COO will design and optimize operational processes, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure that research, publication, and outreach activities are executed efficiently and on schedule. This role includes leading business planning cycles, managing financial performance, and overseeing budgeting and resource allocation to support international collaborations and the Quick Research Reviews platform. The COO will work closely with the founder and leadership team to translate the lab’s mission into operational roadmaps, define measurable goals, monitor performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement practices. The individual will also support partnership development, risk management, and compliance with relevant policies and standards in a distributed, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Strong business planning and strategic management skills, including experience developing and executing operational roadmaps.
• Proficiency in operations management, including process design, workflow optimization, and cross-functional coordination.
• Advanced analytical skills for performance tracking, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
• Experience in finance and budgeting, including forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Demonstrated leadership in remote or distributed teams, with the ability to build alignment and accountability across global stakeholders.
• Background in technology, research, or innovation-driven organizations; familiarity with AI, scientific research, or academic environments is highly beneficial.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage partners, researchers, and external stakeholders professionally.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
