The International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) is a global non-profit scientific research organization working to accelerate the development of vaccines and broadly neutralizing antibodies for HIV and other infectious diseases. IAVI is seeking a Clinical Trial Manager to oversee and manage clinical trials in Kenya.
Responsibilities or duties
The Clinical Trial Manager will be responsible for the overall management of clinical trials, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing clinical trial protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Managing trial budgets and timelines.
- Coordinating with investigators, site staff, and other stakeholders.
- Overseeing data collection, management, and analysis.
- Preparing and submitting regulatory documents.
- Conducting site monitoring visits.
- Identifying and resolving trial-related issues.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or healthcare field. A Master's degree or PhD is an advantage.
- Proven experience in clinical trial management, including experience with HIV vaccine trials.
- In-depth knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Office, clinical trial management systems).
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical trial management.
