Electrical Engineering Consultant Trainer
Job Summary:
The consultant Trainer will develop and deliver high-impact training and workshops in High Voltage Engineering with COMSOL Multiphysics that engage clients, meet their learning objectives, and contribute to the program’s overall performance and targets. Additionally, the trainer will continuously review workshop practices to maximize client participation, satisfaction, and success.
The High Voltage Engineering Trainer will guide participants through real-world applications of high voltage systems and simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics. The ideal candidate will engage participants through practical demonstrations, simulations, and project-based learning, ensuring concepts are clearly understood and transferable to the workplace. The trainer will also ensure content remains current with global engineering practices and software advances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Deliver Training: Develop and conduct interactive high-voltage engineering training sessions, workshops, and COMSOL simulations for professionals in the energy, utility, and manufacturing sectors.
- Simulation-Based Learning: Train participants on modeling electric fields, insulation systems, breakdown mechanisms, and safety design using COMSOL Multiphysics.
- Customized Learning Approaches: Use real-world case studies, hands-on modeling, demonstrations, and collaborative exercises to enhance learning outcomes.
- Compliance and Industry Standards: Ensure all training aligns with global electrical safety and design standards such as IEEE, IEC, NFPA 70E, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Training Materials Development: Create manuals, presentation decks, practical guides, and modeling exercises tailored to different industrial applications.
- Workshop Facilitation: Deliver both in-person and online training sessions, ensuring participant engagement and concept mastery.
- Post-Training Evaluations: Gather and assess feedback to continuously improve content, delivery methods, and learner satisfaction.
- Liaison with IRES: Work closely with the Training Coordinator to align training programs with IRES quality standards and client needs.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Certification in a relevant software or engineering body is an added advantage.
- 5+ years of professional experience in high voltage engineering, power system design, or related fields.
- Proficiency in COMSOL Multiphysics, especially in Electrostatics, AC/DC, and Thermal modules. Experience with LiveLink for MATLAB is a plus.
- Strong practical experience in modeling high-voltage equipment, insulation coordination, and system behavior under stress.
- Proven experience in technical training, facilitation, or curriculum development for adult learners.
- Familiarity with international standards in electrical and high-voltage design (IEEE, IEC, etc.).
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills to effectively engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to customize content based on industry-specific applications (utilities, transmission/distribution, manufacturing, etc.).
