We are seeking qualified, experienced, and highly motivated General Nurses to join our dedicated healthcare team.

Role Summary

The General Nurse will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient nursing care while ensuring continuity of patient care in accordance with established clinical protocols and the hospital's patient care objectives. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centered healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality nursing care to both outpatient and inpatient clients.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient records and nursing documentation.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions.
  • Record and monitor patients' vital signs and medical information.
  • Observe, document, and report changes in patients' conditions and progress.
  • Coordinate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Order and support the evaluation of diagnostic tests in collaboration with clinicians.
  • Monitor all aspects of patient care, including nutrition, mobility, and recovery.
  • Assess nursing care needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Operate and monitor medical equipment to support patient care.
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies, including trauma cases, cardiac emergencies, strokes, burns, and post-operative care.
  • Conduct community health education and outreach activities.
  • Perform minor theatre procedures within the scope of practice and Nursing Council guidelines.
  • Bill patients for services provided in accordance with hospital procedures.
  • Ensure ventilators, patient monitors, and other medical equipment are functional and properly maintained.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols, patient safety standards, and professional nursing ethics.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) or Kenya Registered Nurse (KRN) from a recognized institution.
  • Valid practicing license from the relevant Nursing Council.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an added advantage.
  • Additional specialty nursing certifications will be an added advantage.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years' continuous nursing experience in a busy Level 5 hospital or an equivalent healthcare facility.
  • Demonstrated experience in inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and post-operative nursing care is highly desirable.
