Job Objective
The candidate will be responsible for providing an opportunity for recent graduates to gain academic, research, and teaching support experience in Software Development and support high-quality teaching, learning, and research within the department.
Responsibilities or duties
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Teaching and Learning
- Assist lecturers in preparing teaching materials, tutorials, and coursework.
- Facilitate discussion groups, tutorials, or practical sessions where required.
- Support marking of assignments, tests, and examinations under supervision.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students.
Research Coordination
- Engage in research activities, including literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.
- Help with research projects, including preparing reports, presentations, and grant development.
Administrative and Student Support
- Assist departments in maintaining student records and data entry.
- Support in organising departmental activities, including seminars, workshops, guest lectures and ceremonies.
- Support administrative duties within the department as assigned.
- Assist in organising students’ activities.
- Provide student support and Services and refer them to support services as appropriate.
- Supervise undergraduate interns where applicable.
- Attend departmental and faculty meetings where required.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Qualifications And Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Software development or Software Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited and recognised university.
- A strong academic record (at least Second-Class Upper Division or equivalent). First class is an added advantage.
- Must be currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program.
- Demonstrated interest in research, teaching or consultancy

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic teaching and presentation skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn and work collaboratively
